Description

Each program in The American Place Theater's Literature to Life series is a professionally staged, verbatim, theatrical adaptation of a significant American literary work. Each program spotlights the talent of one actor and uses a minimal set, while delivering a highly charged emotional experience.
Following a failed attempt to ascend K2, an exhausted American mountaineer is found wandering emaciated and lost through Pakistan’s Karakoram Himalaya. After being rescued and nursed back to health, he promises to return one day and build them a school. From that rash, earnest promise grew one of the most incredible humanitarian campaigns of our time.
